The KZ ED2 are great earphones to own. They combine detailed mids and highs with deep and quick bass. If you want to bring the lows and mids to their full potential, you'll need a slightly amplified source.
KZ ED2/EDR1
ø7mm Dynamic Driver
Pros
- Bright and detailed mids and highs, with more than enough bass to keep the hype going.
- Excellent design and decent build quality.
Cons
- The lows and mids are slightly pushed back on low-power sources.
- The included ear tips are pretty useless, at least they were for me. They are too "soft touch" and aren't grippy.
- There's glue residue on the housings' back meshes on the pair I received.
- The presentation and the lack of accessories and proper tips are quite disappointing.

- They look like they have an open-back design, but their backs are actually sealed behind the meshes.
Comfort & Fit
The pre-applied tips are OK, but too soft and not grippy. I couldn't keep them in my ears without them sliding out on their own. ROCK Zircon's tips worked like a charm, I got a perfect seal and could hear the true nature of these earphones.
Lows / Bass
The bass is clear and precise, with a lot of enjoyable and deep sub-bass, just as long as you really have a perfect fit.
Mids / Vocals
The mids are balanced and precise, yet warm enough for the vocals to sound full and vibrant.
Highs / Treble
The highs are detailed but overly gentle and flattened. Slightly blurred out and not as sharp.
