Baseus Encok H01
Dynamic Driver
I was really excited to try the new H01 by Baseus. I was expecting to hear an improvement over the antiquated and excellent Lark EL-01. That, however, did not happen. I was disappointed by what I heard, especially when I was the first to purchase a pair of these over AliExpress.
The H01 have nothing to offer you. The closest comparison is ROCK Mula: both are quiet and have average mids and unimpressive highs. Even so, the Mula sound much better in terms of warmth and vocal reproduction than H01, probably thanks to Mula's noticeably better lows reproduction, while H01's lows are quite pathetic.
Cons
- Weak, almost non-existent bass response.
- Shouty and colored mids and highs with inaccurate darkish tone.
- Below average maximum loudness, even quieter than Xiaomi Piston 3.
- Overall fragile build quality. The plug area looks especially vulnerable.

Definitely not as ergonomic as, for example, the Xiaomi Piston 3, and they don't sit firmly inside the ear. They are hovering slightly and most of their hold is accomplished by the ear tips.
Cold and unresponsive lows. They are so weak that I could barely measure them properly. Definitely not suitable for any music genre, as everything will sound just lifeless.
Overemphasized compared to lower and higher frequencies. The mids are tinny, cold and lack depth and sense of distance, and at the same time their tone is darkish and inaccurate. Vocals sound quite terrible.
Darkish and quiet, but gentle and undisturbing. Detail is pretty much lost overall. Nothing worth of your attention here.
