Xiaomi has surpassed most of my expectations with their new Hybrid earphones. They are excellent. Powerful and warm sound, with enough mid-bass and sub-bass to keep you interested, and very nice mids and highs, except some muddiness and piercing sibilance when there are vocals. They are also very comfortable, especially if you can get some quality foam tips.

Cons

              - Vocals and acoustic instruments tend to be slightly muddy because of the bump in the mid-bass.

              - Vocals and high-frequency instruments are also unbearably harsh and sibilant very often.

              - The included tips are quite generic.

The stock tips might not be the most sealing pair in the bunch, being so thin and soft, but they do their job in keeping the earphones inside. The shape of the housings also help in keeping the earphones firmly in place.

The bass on these earphones was significantly improved compared to Xiaomi Piston 3, especially the beefy sub-bass. However, the bass has a slight tendency to leak to the mids and overpower the vocals.

Vocals are slightly blanketed by the bass response and don't sound entirely accurate. They are both darkish and a bit sharp and harsh at the same time. Sibilance is quite frequent with these earphones.

The highs are somewhat in the background, and are relatively dark and unnatural. Occasionally, some piercing cymbals and hi-hats can be experienced, they are high-pitched and uncomfortable.
