ROCK MuO (RAU0518)

ø9mm Dynamic Driver

$15~$20
2.0/5.0

There's a good reason why I dislike Bluetooth earphones, and that's always has to do with the compromises you have to consider before getting one of them. Just as I suspected, these Bluetooth earphones suffer from the main issues many other Bluetooth earphones suffer - low volume, inaccurate sound and a major lack of bass.

As always, I'm not very inclined to recommend Bluetooth earphones if you care about sound quality at all.

NOTES:

Pros

  • The design is simply but very effective, very portable and light.

Cons

  • The sound is very artificial and unpleasant.
  • The bass is lacking in punch and depth.
  • The volume levels are quite low.

Package & Accessories

Package:

Soft paperboard + soft plastic (clear)

Ear Tips - Single-Flange:

S+M+L, black, ø6mm black bores

Build & Materials

Housings:

Metal, ø5mm nozzles, rigid strain reliefs

Cinch:

TPE

Remote:

Plastic (matte), triple-button

Cable:

Fabric + TPE, extra-soft, straight

Comfort & Fit

I got a perfect seal straight out of the box. The cable holds the earphones on your neck comfortably, allowing you to safely carry them around with you just like a necklace when you're not using them.

Lows / Bass

As expected, the bass isn't impressive, it's shallow and flattened out. It's clear but not impactful, and barely adds any environmental sensation.

Mids / Vocals

The mids are nice. They aren't as loud as I would like them to be, and there isn't anything particularly impressive about them. They are quite lacking in depth as a result of weak bass response, and even sound sibilant at times.

Highs / Treble

The highs are sharp but not quite detailed. They even sound colored and artificial. Not very pleasant.
