The stylish brand UiiSii has come up with 2 new pairs of earphones, intended for sports: GT500 and GT800. I picked up a GT500 for a review. The first 2 things I thought about these earphones were "Wow, these things are comfortable" and "Wow, these things' bass is crazy". However, the mids and highs aren't as pleasant as I would like. They are dark, muffled and underemphasized, while the bass dominates the whole sound signature.

One more thing: The build quality is amazing. The cable is thick, soft and only partially flexible, but UiiSii made sure not to bend it inside the package. You get a straight cable.

I got 2 pairs of these. The silver pair is severely defective. The golden is perfect. I used the images of the silver pair for the review, but the sound of the golden pair. I just think that the silver one looks much better.

Pros

  • Massive bass response with a beefy sub-bass. Makes you feel like you have full-size headphones on your ears.
  • The build quality and design is simply beautiful. The thick cable might actually be a good idea, durability-wise.
  • Extremely comfortable to wear. They stay firm and flat inside your ears. They won't come out even if the cable is being slightly pulled.

Cons

  • The mids and highs were significantly left out, as they are muffled and underemphasized, creating a muddy overall sound.
  • These earphones come with 3 pairs of the same M-size wide-bore black tips. This is not a mistake, I have 2 pairs of these earphones (golden and silver), and they both have that issue. I had to use my own tips to get a proper seal.

Comfort & Fit

Since these earphones come with 3 pairs of the same M-size wide-bore black tips, I had to use my own tips to get a proper seal. As soon as you get a perfect seal, you'll find these earphones some of the most comfortable earphones on the planet. They stay flat in your ears, instead of sticking out, which means you can even lay on a pillow with these.

Lows / Bass

The bass is massive and the sub-bass is crazy. You can feel each and every drum kick inside your ear canals. The mid-bass, however, tends to be muddy and overemphasized and leak into the mids noticeably.

Mids / Vocals

The mids are pushed back noticeably by the massive bass. The mids and vocals aren't accurate either because the sound signature is dark.

Highs / Treble

The highs are muffled and smoothed-out. No sharpness and no brilliance. No noticeable peaks. The highs are dark and it seems like they were left out.
