MCDODO M3
Ø9mm Dynamic Driver

When it comes to unknown brands, MCDODO is one the most unknown brands outside of China. I decided to try their latest earphones model, and was amazed. These earphones look very basic and common, yet they pack some powerful drivers that deliver crystal clear sound with a powerful immersive bass response that is more moderate than ROCK Zircon's bass response in its depth and volume, but the sound is very similar overall. The highs are slightly more pronounced, but they share a common signature.

Recommended for: Average listeners.

Pros
Cons
  • Exceptional sound quality. The bass is immersive but controlled, the mids are precise and the highs are bright and crisp.
  • The highs are just slightly overemphasized, which muffles the mids.
  • The build quality is only OK, since the cable is very generic and sticky, and there are absolutely no strain reliefs anywhere on the cable.
  • For such a great sound quality, the design isn't very inviting.
  • Unboxing these earphones carefully took more time than it should.
  • The included tips are very narrow while the nozzles are extra-wide. Very inconvenient.

Comfort & Fit

These earphones have pretty wide nozzles, which makes it difficult to pick fitting ear tips. The included tips didn't provide a good seal. Large generic black tips worked much better.

Lows / Bass

The bass is amazing! The sub-bass is more relaxed than ROCK Zircon's sub-bass, but it's still massive and exciting, makes a perfect listening experience, especially good for electronic music.

Mids / Vocals

The vocals are warm and exciting, but slightly overpowered by the relatively loud highs. Still, they are full and easy-listening, and very easy to get used to.

Highs / Treble

The highs are crisp and sharp, but occasionally overpower the mids, making them sound muffled and pushed into the background. The highs are very energetic and emphasized.
